How can I help?

For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward.

We're getting this question often, and it's very encouraging. We'll need help if we're to follow God's vision to Lebanon. That help will take many forms, and we're trusting God to provide that -and his people to respond.

So that you don't have to look around for it, here's where to send your donations if you'd like to support us financially:

Words of Isa
The Church at Lake Guntersville
4525 Wyeth Drive
Guntersville, AL 35976

If you'll provide your name and address, the Church can mail you a tax statement at the end of the year.  Also, please indicate if you'll be supporting us on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, etc.)  You can email pastor@wordsofisa.org for more information.

The scriptures teach us that those who provide support to people as the follow Christ will share in the reward. You may not be able to speak Arabic, or teach principles of faith to growing disciples. That doesn't mean that you can't share in this vision. If God is calling you to participate, we want your help.

He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward

The principle by which we must operate is that we don't need anyone's money. We need partners who are being obedient to God -who will pray for us and support our ministry financially. God will provide what we need to accomplish his will.

The cost of living in Lebanon for our family will be $70,000 per year. Please prayerfully consider what level of giving you would be willing to commit to for three years. This is a big move for us as a family. We need friends and partners we can rely on to share in this vision with us, and commit to supporting it.

I've been asked "How much do you consider an appropriate amount?" The answer to that, as to all such questions, is found in the scriptures. Jesus taught us that the size of a gift is not as important as the spirit with which it is given:

"Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on."

Please pray before you decide how much to give. This is a decision that you shouldn't make without consulting God. We can only use money for God's glory if you have given to Him.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

So the answer is to generously give as much as you can give cheerfully in obedience to God.
