Why there?

In a very short time, will not Lebanon be turned into a fertile field and the fertile field seem like a forest? In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see.

Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Why Lebanon?

First and foremost -because God is doing a work of the Holy Spirit among the people of Lebanon. He loves them! He is making Lebanon into a fertile field. His glory will ring through the nations -the needy will rejoice with the Holy One of Israel!

For reasons that make no worldly sense at all, God has given me a special love for the Arab people -and for Lebanese and Palestinians in particular. I don't see them as terrorists lurking behind corners, waiting to bomb children. I see them as friends I haven't made yet. Some of my brothers and sisters live there.

Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.

We don't get to decide who hears the Gospel. There's no exclusive club of people who are like us. When that angel flies over Lebanon, I hope that everyone there will already have heard the message. If they haven't, why not? Why should rocks and angels bring the name of the Holy One of Israel before the nations? Shouldn't we, his children, do that?

From my website:

"Lebanon is open to the Gospel. It is one of the few places in the Muslim world where religious freedom is the rule. The Gospel can be preached, Churches planted, and believers won to the kingdom."

Lebanon presents a fantastic opportunity to share the Gospel with the Arab world. Lebanon has a great influence on Middle Eastern culture, and the Lebanese people can travel to places that western missionaries cannot go.

There are already strong believers at work in Lebanon. The local Churches there are few, but they have committed to the work of the Holy Spirit. These Churches, these Lebanese believers, will be God's vehicle to change the Arab world. You can follow the MEBO link from our website to discover more about what God is already doing in Lebanon.
